Emmy Skensved (Canada/Germany)
Emmy Skensved is a Canadian artist based in Berlin, Germany. Her practice spans a variety of media including sculpture, digital animation, audio, and web design, and is informed by her interest in interpersonal relationships, themes of belonging, kinship, care, and the practices that hold communities together.
Skensved holds an MFA degree from the University of Waterloo. She has been the recipient of grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Stiftung Kunstfonds, and has attended residencies at Tabakalera (Donostia-San Sebastián, Spain), Seoul Museum of Art (Seoul, Korea), Cripta747 (Turin, Italy), and the Banff Centre (Banff, Canada). Recent exhibitions include The Green Ray at Doosan Art Center in Seoul, Korea, No Place Like Home at ARKO Art Center in Seoul, Korea, and Interlude at P21 Gallery in Seoul, Korea.
